One of our favorite things to do in the Spring and Summer here in Korea is to head down to the Banpo Bridge for the Bamdokkaebi Night Market (read Food trucks!). It is along the Han River where over 30 food trucks line up and serve some delicious and unique cuisines. The weekend after we picked up Baby L we decided to go for a little family night out.
The Banpo is not too far from our home, but a little too far for us to walk. We could have piled in the car and dealt with lots of traffic and parking there but that’s no fun. So, Tim seized the opportunity and took the 2 older boys there by bike. There are too many hills for Isaac to safely bike there, so he and I, along with Baby L, took the car to a parking lot that is about 1 km away. From there Isaac safely rode his bike while I jogged with the stroller over to the Banpo.
We parked the bikes and walked around gathering our dinner from various food trucks. Then we had a wonderful picnic dinner. We didn’t stay long as we had a long day planned for the next day. As we headed back to the car, Tim stopped to show the boys how to do a proper wheelie. Also, since it was dark and the boys didn’t have lights on their bikes, we strapped their bikes to the back of the car and they rode home with me.
Now, this is nothing “spectacular or big”, it is just simply one of the ways we choose to make life an adventure together and get outside and explore.
