No Excuse

Please forgive us as we have been rather absent on our website.

As I (Kristin) began typing I wanted to tell you that we have been so busy. I was going to give you a brief description of working towards my teaching license, and my time student teaching in P.E., about how hard it has been for Tim to balance work, training, coaching swimming, and coaching Cindy, along with of course family time. However, as I sit and write, my boys are disobeying and not staying in their beds. Every time I go in, there is an excuse: "but I just...", "but he....", "I'm too distracted", "I'm not tired", "he hurt me", and so on. (yes, many excuses because I have been trying to get them to bed for over 45 minutes).  So, yeah, I am over excuses and there is no reason to bore you with ours. It is just life.

All you need to know is we are working on updates and we don't want to let things "slip" again! We will post things that have happened in the past few months, along with things that are currently going on. So please, be patient with us. We are jumping back in to posting here, hoping it will help hold us accountable to staying active as a family (which also just keeps you informed!).

Ep. 5 Training an Ironwoman: Week 5 & 6 (FTP test)

The weeks seem short but the time can stand still during a workout. It is busy season here with us coaching swim teams, running aquatic programs, and trying to fit in workouts, but Cindy is getting it done.  After missing a few workouts last two weeks due to the Olympics, Cindy hit weeks five and six hard and consistently, not missing any work out.

Ep. 6 Training an Ironwoman: Week 7 & 8

Training for triathlons has so many cross benefits for endurance and general fitness. This is something that I knew but I did not realize the significance until the Seoul marathon Sunday, May 18. Ok, let me back-up. The longest run Cindy or I has done in 2018 is 25km. Both of us are in the thick of high school swim season. It is the busiest time of year. The 2 days leading up to the marathon Cindy and I coached at a 2 day meet. We were on our feet most of the day, and any chance I got I told Cindy to “sit down”. Then a few days before the race I decided to go out and support Cindy. I thought I may run alongside her and help pace her for 20-30km. I reached out to some friends and I was able to find a race-bib last minute
