Spring Break Day 4 2017

91 Km and over 1,000meters in climbing later, we finally reached our final destination for our Spring break tour of Southeastern Korean, Ilsan Beach. Getting there was a little tough, but fun and rewarding. We started the fourth day by calling an audible and changing our final destination from Busan to Ilsan Beach. Reasons we chose Ulsan: 1) it had a beach, 2)it was a closer drive, 3) it was more remote/less traveled than Busan, 4)random intriguing park photos of rock cliffs, that we found on Trip Advisor, 5) not an overwhelming amount of things to do, so good for a 1 day visit (we will save Busan for when we have more time).

Spring Break Day 3 2017

We woke up in our blacked out motel room with no idea what time it was. We were pleasantly surprised the boys slept in until about 7am! We hadn’t quite made up our minds on what exactly we were going to do, just that we would do some family riding with multiple stops, during which Tim would go back, get the car, and play catch-up; it was our version of leapfrog.

Spring Break Day 2 2017

So last night Tim received a text from the apartment owner telling us that he wanted to "entertain us for breakfast”. Of course we couldn't resist! Especially after we had described our mentality of the trip to the boys as being one of “going where the wind blows us”. (As you can imagine that took a lot of explaining to a 3, 4, and 5-year-old.) We met the host at 7:30 AM this morning and he took us to the provincial government building across the street for a buffet Korean style breakfast.

Spring Break Day 1 2017

Woke up to Titus coming in our room dressed and ready to go.  He said in his sweet voice, “I’m ready for our bike trip”. Tim proceeded to tell him about his “special” milk (individual milk box) that was in the fridge, trying to distract him in hopes for a few more minutes in bed.  About an hour later we peeled ourselves out of bed with our morning ritual of saying “seriously boys! It is 7AM and people live below us!”  Then granola, french press, about 5 trips up and down the elevator later, and we were packed and ready to go in record time!

Who doesn't need a push uphill?

So, I was riding my bike uphill yelling “Tim...Tim… it hurts...I can’t... I’m not going to make it…” then suddenly I felt a push right before my legs gave out; which would have sent me, and my helpless 2 year old in the trailer behind me, rolling backwards all the way back down the hill. This was my memory of last years spring break. How did I get to this helpless point?
