I am not a big fan of swimming in the ocean, so the fact that we had to lather up with Vaseline to help keep the jellyfish off… yeah I was about done there! But, I won that battle and kept pushing forward through the next. several. (mental) battles…

My favorite aspect of this race is the comradery and sportsmanship between friends, family, and co-workers.

KTF Final of Series
Result: 1st age group, 2nd overall
Remarks: Most Epic Race I have ever been a part of.
Result: 1st Overall
Remarks: This was the hottest race I have ever done. Humidity was high and temperature was over 100, good thing it was just a sprint. Turns out at this point I was trained well enough for 4 miles unlike the 13 miler I had to do 2 weeks earlier. Even though it was a smaller field I beat some very high caliber athletes, one of which ended up placing 2nd at Worlds in the 40-45 age 2 months later.
Result: 1st in Age group (4th Overall)
Remarks: My first Triathlon longer than Olympic Distance. I enjoyed the long 3K swim and the bike was a great course of rolling hills. I cramped up bad and fell apart on the run.
Results: 2nd Overall
Remarks: Fun race. Bike course was difficult to hold speed because of all the turnarounds (6 laps) It was awesome to do a Triathlon with my lovely wife Kristin! Triathlons are best enjoyed when the whole family is involved.
Result: 3rd Overall, Fastest Bike Split
Remarks: After a winter of training and loosing a lot of weight I had success on a tough run course!
Result: 2nd overall
Remarks: Interesting experience swimming with 10 people in a lane and not allowed to do flip turns. I did not feel good.
